Short Stories

Read some of Kory’s short stories online:

Birmingham Arts Journal:  “Moving the Bar”  (pdf download, page 1).

A version of this story was also a finalist in the 2004 Nashville Scene Fiction Competition judged by Ann Patchett (author of Bel Canto, one of Kory’s favorite books).

Long Story Short: “Miss Broadway”
Kory’s first published short story.

In print:

Kory’s short story “Trade Day” appears in Muscadine Lines: A Southern Anthology, edited by Kathy Hardy Rhodes. “Trade Day” also received recognition from both the Alabama Writers Conclave and the St. Louis-based Saturday Writers competitions.

Gone but not forgotten:

“Swing” was published in Pindeldyboz, which is no longer online. In 2007, Pindeldyboz was ranked the #1 online journal based on analysis of storySouth’s Million Writers Award data. View the top 30 online journals on the storySouth blog.
